This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, progressive Early Intervention in Psychosis Service based in Horsham, supporting clients with First Episode Psychosis to have a positive, hopeful, and meaningful experience of mental health services.
We are looking to recruit an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, or Mental Health Nurse to work as a Lead Practitioner, to complement our existing multidisciplinary Early Intervention in Psychosis service based at New Park House in Horsham. This post is for maternity cover and is fixed term until 31st Oct 2025.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicants will support a small caseload of clients aged 14-65, with suspected/confirmed First Episode Psychosis in the community from referral to discharge, providing effective care coordination for up to 3 years.
Through developing therapeutic relationships, you will work collaboratively with clients to create person-centered care and treatment plans which aim to reduce distress, maintain independence, prevent relapse, promote recovery, and social inclusion. Involving and working with friends and family members is a key component of care delivery.
Previous experience of supporting clients with mental health and social care difficulties is beneficial. You will be supported to develop specialist knowledge and skills to support those presenting with First Episode Psychosis. An interest in understanding the principles and ethos of early intervention and this client group is important. We are a multidisciplinary team based at New Park House in Horsham, situated in front of Horsham Park, within walking distance of the train station and town center shops and cafes. Horsham is conveniently accessible from Brighton, Crawley, and surrounding areas.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established specialist psychosis service. The Horsham EIP team is one of six such teams provided by the Trust, overseen by a single service-wide governance group.
You will be supported by the team leader and the wider MDT through clinical, managerial, and professional supervision, along with regular team meetings and case discussions.
We are committed to your ongoing professional development through internal and external training and university-accredited courses.
The role is based in Horsham, but the team works flexibly and remotely using digital solutions. Due to community care and outreach responsibilities, access to a car and a valid driving license are essential.

Job responsibilities
The role of Lead Practitioners involves working in partnership with service users with complex health and social care needs, developing their care and recovery plans to enable fulfilling lives, using NICE-recommended interventions and an assertive outreach approach. The successful applicants will demonstrate understanding of interventions relevant to clients with Psychosis, working closely with carers, families, and partner agencies.
The post holder will promote safety and well-being at all times, be involved in triaging and assessing referrals, and will assess, plan, and implement care, provide specialist advice, and carry out assessments.
