Generative artificial intelligence (AI) describes algorithms that can be used to produce new content, including audio, code, images, text, simulations, and videos. It is developing all the time and is now being used as a support mechanism for all kinds of content-based creations. Are you thinking about a change – have you considered working in Paediatrics? We have an opportunity for a Band 4 Administrator in the Paediatric Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Service, within the BRHC at 30 hours per week, fixed term to cover maternity leave, from 9 March to 4 December 2026.

You will be required to provide an efficient administrative service for the consultants, residents and CNS's. You will need to have excellent organisational and communication skills, be methodical in your approach and pay attention to detail. You must have well-established IT skills, with proficiency in all Microsoft Office 365 programs, including Publisher. You will use Evolve, CareFlow and SAP Ariba.

The ability to time-manage and prioritise workloads will be fundamental. Office tasks include managing bookings and preparing educational training packs/resources, telephone queries, monitoring stationery stocks and ordering, sorting post, alongside further duties such as inputting rotas, registering sickness, developing Excel data set up and Excel analysis for audit and training evaluation. You will also have the opportunity to organise and assist with events such as national modules and study days/conferences, in addition to arranging meetings and taking minutes.

Communication:

·Dealing with telephone enquiries and taking accurate messages as appropriate.

·To be aware of the Consultants and Residents’ clinical commitments and to be able to locate them as necessary.

Organising and Planning:

·To provide a high level administrative service to the Consultant Anaesthetists including dealing with correspondence, reports, organising and servicing meetings, transcribing minutes, and papers for publication.

·To provide administrative support to the Acute Pain Team/Acute Pain Nurse Specialist as required. This may include typing of correspondence, reports, sending mailshot, minute taking, arranging meetings, data input, and making appointments.

·Prepare the quarterly teaching rota taking into account Consultants leave times and clinical commitments, and distribute.

·To input the Consultants and Trainees on-call and teaching rotas, study and annual leave, and off-days into the system as well as to attend CLW conferences where appropriate and update the eRota system with any sickness leave taken.

·Organise and assist with events and study days for Consultants and the Acute Pain Team as required.

·To provide assistance with various departmental and divisional meetings as required.
