Your placement year, a FTSE 100 business, with your name on it, starting September 2026
We have a fantastic opportunity to join us for a 12‑month work placement within Global Corporate Affairs joining the team as a Global Corporate Affairs Intern.
As our Global Corporate Affairs Intern, you’ll rotate across three teams—Corporate Responsibility, Global Communications and Corporate Affairs—working on the sustainability stories, press moments and reporting that shape how the world sees IHG Hotels & Resorts. You’ll meet senior leaders, build a network across the business, and finish the year with twelve months of substantive experience to take back to university.
We are delighted to invite applications now for a start date in September 2026.
What you’ll do
* Rotate across Corporate Responsibility, Global Communications and Corporate Affairs, a broad view of how a global business communicates and operates.
* Take on real responsibility; managing your own project work, hitting deadlines, and seeing things through to the finish.
* Sharpen your skills; reviewing and proof‑reading copy, working with sustainability data and spotting trends.
* Research best practice in Corporate Responsibility and ESG reporting; and have your input genuinely valued.
* Help produce IHG’s annual Responsible Business Report and our quarterly financial results reporting as a FTSE 100 company.
* Support the Global Communications press office on day‑to‑day media enquiries.
* Draft and proof internal stories, social media posts and other content across internal, external, owner, sustainability and public affairs work.
* Prepare weekly briefings shared across the wider team, including with senior leaders and IHG’s Board.
* Build your network, from our Employee Resource Groups to time with IHG’s Senior Leaders. We want to see you flourish.
What you’ll bring
* You’re currently studying for a degree in a relevant discipline and need a placement year as part of your course.
* You’re genuinely interested in sustainability, communities, climate change and the environment and you keep an eye on politics and current affairs.
* Corporate communications excites you, the storytelling, the strategy and the audience side of it.
* You’re audience‑aware, with a good feel for different global markets and cultural nuance.
* You’re comfortable with numbers, able to work with data to spot trends and insights.
* Strong written and verbal communication, and you enjoy working as part of a collaborative team.
* You know your way around social media, LinkedIn especially.
