About the Role
ARU seeks an enthusiastic lecturer in Agriculture to join an interdisciplinary team delivering high‑quality, inquiry‑led teaching across our Higher Education curriculum. The role focuses on forward‑thinking undergraduate agriculture courses that are industry‑focussed and emphasize regional farming systems, novel crop production, and agronomy.
Responsibilities
* Design and deliver student‑centred, inquiry‑led live projects in collaboration with external stakeholders.
* Develop and deliver courses that equip graduates with the skills and knowledge to succeed in the dynamic agri‑food sector.
* Build and maintain strong links with local farms, industry partners, and sector organisations.
* Encourage inclusive learning and integrated problem‑solving skills across the curriculum.
* Support the university’s mission to nurture talent from diverse backgrounds and promote workforce development.
Qualifications
* Hold a degree and a PhD or Professional Doctorate (or be nearing completion within the first 18 months of employment).
* Demonstrated experience with arable cropping and agronomy.
* Practical farming knowledge and a strong understanding of current agricultural challenges and policy change.
* Proven ability to engage and inspire students in a higher education setting.
