Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Your Role as a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant
* Provide classroom-based support for pupils with special educational needs in a primary setting
* Work one-to-one and in small groups to help children access learning, manage routines and build confidence
* Assist with tailored interventions to support communication, sensory regulation and emotional wellbeing
* Be a reliable, calm presence for both pupils and staff throughout the school day
* Work alongside teachers and SEND specialists to ensure each pupil's needs are understood and supported
What We're Looking For
* A relevant Teaching Assistant, Childcare, or Early Years qualification
* Experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a school or early years setting
* A compassionate, flexible and proactive approach to each day
* Clear communication skills and the ability to build trust with pupils
* A genuine commitment to the role of a Primary SEND Teaching Assistant

Working Hours
* Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm, term time only

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
