Your new role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll lead mechanical design across multiple projects, acting as the primary liaison with external design teams. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality design packages, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring seamless coordination across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead mechanical engineering design and coordination on multiple projects.
* Produce design packages including drawings, specifications, and technical schedules.
* Conduct thermal load calculations, dynamic modelling, and carbon emissions' analysis.
* Liaise with contractors, manufacturers, and utility providers.
* Ensure compliance with building regulations, British Standards, and CIBSE guidelines.
* Attend site visits and client meetings to ensure design intent is met.
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
What you'll need to succeed
* Minimum 4 years' experience in mechanical/building services engineering.
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field.
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, IES, and ideally Revit/BIM tools.
* Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and sustainability in design.
* Familiarity with CDM regulations and environmental design principles.
* Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Working towards chartership with CIBSE or IMechE.
