Position Overview:
The role involves managing the flow of goods — from receiving deliveries through to preparing and dispatching orders — while maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring all warehouse/stores operations run smoothly and safely.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
1. Goods Handling: Accept and verify incoming deliveries, checking quantities and quality before accurately logging them in the company’s ERP or stock system.
2. Stock Management: Organise and store materials in the correct locations to maintain order and accessibility across the warehouse.
3. Order Preparation: Pick, pack, and prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring accuracy and adherence to delivery deadlines.
4. Inventory Control: Keep all stock information up to date, assist with regular cycle counts, and support periodic inventory audits.
5. Equipment Operation: Use warehouse machinery such as pallet trucks and forklifts safely and efficiently (training available if required).
6. Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain a tidy, well-organised workspace and ensure all activities comply with company health and safety standards.
7. Problem Solving: Report damaged, missing, or incorrect stock promptly and assist in investigating and resolving discrepancies.
8. Collaboration: Support process improvements and provide assistance to other departments when workloads require flexibility.
Required Skills & Experience
9. Background in warehousing, logistics, or store work.
10. Confident using computers and basic stock management or ERP systems.
11. Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, organised approach to tasks.
12. Team-oriented attitude with the ability to work effectively on your own initiative.
13. Physically capable of handling and moving goods safely.
14. A forklift licence is advantageous, though training can be provided for the right candidate
