Location: Isle of Bute Distillery / Bute Brew Co.
Reports to: Lead Distillery & Brewery and Distillery Manager
Overview
We are looking for a committed, hands-on team member to join Isle of Bute Distillery and Bute Brew Co. as a Distillery & Brewery Assistant. This is a varied role that spans both spirit and beer production, requiring attention to detail, responsibility for duty records, and a willingness to get stuck into all aspects of production.

Key Responsibilities
Distillery
* Stock Management
* Stock count of duty suspended and duty paid stock.
* Update duty spreadsheets and duty-paid log for all stock movements.
* Weekly/monthly stock check of bottles, packaging, and raw materials.
* Production Planning
* Assist with planning distilling schedules based on stock levels and orders, ensuring no clash with brewery production.
* Contribute to bottling and labelling schedules.
* Record all bottling in duty suspension spreadsheets.
* Distillery Operations
* Assist with distillation runs.
* Cleaning and maintenance of still after each run.
* Bottling and labelling spirits to required standards.
Brewery
* Beer Line Maintenance
* Weekly Monday beer line clean (approx. 3 hours), ensuring cold room and lines are fully cleaned and rinsed.
* Brew Day Support
* Assist brewers with cleaning and preparation of equipment.
* Take refractometer readings during the process.
* Clean down mash tun, copper, and brewing kit post-brew.
Skills & Attributes
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
* Organised, proactive, and able to manage priorities across distillery and brewery tasks.
* Willingness to take on physically demanding, hands-on work.
* Comfortable working independently as well as part of a small team.
Previous experience in production, brewing or distilling is desirable. We are looking for a long-term team member and training will be given.

Pay: From £22,000.00 per year
