Reporting to the Finance Director, the IT Procurement Manager will form an integral part of the Finance function, establishing and managing supplier relationships, leading senior level negotiations and driving the procurement strategy through the whole business. This person will lead and develop a small team of 3. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact on a growing business and industry, as Pulsant navigates through transformation and expansion.
What you’ll do
* Identify, analyse, and negotiate optimal commercial agreements with current and new suppliers to generate cost-saving opportunities.
* Proactive creation of RFI's and RFP's with technical accuracy to provide stakeholders with a starting point for future content development.
* Maintain a comprehensive tracker for savings, cost avoidance achieved.
* Assist in the review of the Procurement Function and its methodology – identifying and implementing improvements to drive down spend and drive-up compliance.
* Establish relationships with suppliers and agree terms and conditions – setting up framework purchasing agreements as required and negotiating contracts and acting as an escalation point for supplier issues.
* Foster close working relationships with internal stakeholders across the business.
* Cost analysis – construct detailed cost models/purchase price analysis of goods and services as required.
* Actively manage vendor / supplier performance. Review and report on performance of area.
* Present Procurement performance update and achievements at internal meetings.
* Handle confidential information and sensitive data.
* Demonstrate problem solving skills; balance between following existing process and scope for exercising creativity inherent in the role.
* Manage a Senior Buyer and 2 x Procurement Assistants
* Review and rationalise the existing supplier base.
What / who we’re looking for
* An experienced Procurement Manager, with proven experience running large strategic procurement processes.
* Procurement experience in a similar industry (e.g. data centres, digital infrastructure, networking or telecommunications).
* Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, coupled with the ability to influence outcome at all levels.
* Excellent communication skills, with an ability to converse well with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* An experienced people leader.
