This is a fixed-term, part-time appointment for 6 months during term time only. The successful candidate will be expected to work during September 2023, October 2023, November 2023, January 2024, February 2024, and March 2024.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Birkbeck Students’ Union’s team during a period of positive change.
You will be a current student or recent Birkbeck graduate, committed to engaging the diverse Birkbeck student population, with skills, enthusiasm, and creativity to support the Students’ Union communications team in building our community and enhancing the student experience.
In this role, you will develop and deliver the Student Union’s communication strategy to ensure students are engaged and informed about Union activities. You will also have opportunities to develop design and video skills through content creation.
You will ensure students feel supported by providing excellent customer service via the Students’ Union mailbox and social media channels. Additionally, you will identify emerging trends from student feedback to keep the Union representative and responsive to student needs.
To succeed, you should have a passion for communication, demonstrate clarity in different formats (written/verbal), possess good organisation skills, and have a proven track record of excellent customer service. Attention to detail and the ability to identify key information are essential.
This role is only open to current or recent Birkbeck students/graduates.
Remuneration:
Grade 3 of the College's London Pay Scale, which is £25,923 rising to £28,728 per annum. The salary is pro-rata for this part-time position and includes a consolidated weighting/allowance applicable to staff whose work location is in London.
