Job purpose:
Responsible for maintaining debtor accounts and facilitating collection of outstanding balances in a timely manner. Working closely within a team, you will ensure accurate data processing and timely reporting.

Main duties:

12. Take responsibility for client accounts within the Credit Control team
13. Maintain accurate and up to date customer details and account records
14. Send out monthly client statements/letters as required.
15. Establish and maintain a positive professional relationship with Clients, Account Managers and Consultants.
16. Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries to ensure that all queries are expediently and effectively closed thereby removing any payment obstacles
17. Manage the administration of self-bill accounts, frameworks and consolidated invoices (where applicable), ensuring these are kept up to date
18. Be able to manage and reconcile debtor accounts,
19. Minimise bad debts and keep debtor days within a pre-agreed limit
20. Produce weekly aged debt reports with analysis
21. Review accrued income balances
22. Invoice and credit note processing, cash posting
23. Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
24. Meet KPI targets as set by the company
25. Provide regular updates to Credit Control Manager
26. Work closely with commercial teams to ensure that processes are followed

Main responsibilities:

27. Responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive professional relationship with Clients, Account Managers and Consultants
28. Responsible for meeting KPIs set by the business
29. Responsible for consistently driving system improvements and efficiencies in processes
30. Responsible for compliance with all relevant legislation, and processes, policies, and procedures
31. Responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and ensuring that you take reasonable care not to put other people (including fellow employees and members of the public) at risk by what you do or do not do in the course of your job
32. Responsible for safeguarding assets within your control and posession, including but not limited to hardware, software, systems, or information, and to report any suspected breach in security without delay, to the relevant personnel as required
33. Responsible for the non-disclosure of any confidential information and/or trade secrets of the Company to third parties and/or the misuse of any confidential information and/or trade secrets of the Company for your own purpose/benefit
34. Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and developing excellent working relationships with colleagues within your department and the wider Company
35. Responsible for delivering exceptional levels of customer service; both to internal and external customers
36. Responsible for communicating with people in a respectful, courteous, and professional manner at all times

Educational/qualification attainments:

AAT qualification (or working towards)

Knowledge, skills and experience:

37. Credit control experience/intermediate accounts skills (desirable)
38. Ability to manage and prioritise and extensive caseload
39. Excellent time management skills and proactive with deadlines
40. IT literate, working knowledge of Microsoft Packages
41. High standard of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
42. Excellent organisational skills
43. Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
44. Excellent telephone manner and ability to recover debts with ease
45. Ability to work under pressure and use own initiative
