We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Construction Teacher to deliver City & Guilds Level 1 Construction qualifications on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive vocational team dedicated to developing practical skills and employability in young people.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons for Level 1 City & Guilds Construction courses, in line with awarding body requirements
* Teach across core construction trades (e.g. basic carpentry, brickwork, painting & decorating) as required at Level 1
* Provide hands-on workshop sessions focused on developing practical skills and workplace readiness
* Monitor, assess, and track student progress, providing feedback and supporting students to achieve their qualifications
* Maintain a safe and effective learning environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
* Work collaboratively with the vocational team to support learners’ engagement, behaviour, and progression
Requirements:
* Recognised teaching qualification (e.g. QTS, QTLS, PGCE, or relevant adult education qualification)
* Industry experience within construction trades
* Experience delivering City & Guilds Level 1 Construction or similar vocational programmes
* Strong classroom and workshop management skills
* Commitment to safeguarding, equality, and supporting learners with a range of needs
* Availability to work every Wednesday, with flexibility on the other 1–2 days
Desirable:
* Assessor qualification (e.g. TAQA)
* Experience teaching in a further education or alternative provision setting
