Overview
University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a permanent Consultant Surgeon to join the Colorectal team within the Surgery Care Group. The role is to start as soon as possible and offers a 10 PA job plan. You will be part of a team of 13 colorectal consultants in a busy tertiary referral teaching hospital.

Responsibilities
* Manage an undifferentiated general surgical intake including major trauma with a specialised colorectal interest.
* Engage in elective colorectal cancer MDT activities, perform elective laparoscopic and open surgery, carry out colonoscopy lists, and participate in outpatient activity.
* Cover the unselected emergency weekend take on a 1:20 rota; contribute to weekend emergency colorectal coverage on a 1:20 rota and colorectal ward rounds on a 1:20 rota, resulting in 3:20 weekends worked.
Qualifications
* GMC registration, with ideally GMC specialist registration.
* The successful candidate will be employed under the terms and conditions of service for Consultants (England) 2003.
