Job Description
Job Purpose: To lead efficient postgraduate research (PGR) administration within the College, overseeing all aspects of PGR academic and student administration, including funded PhD programmes. Collaborate with the Dean of Postgraduate Research to achieve strategic objectives.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Deliver a professional PGR service meeting the needs of all stakeholders.
* Contribute to the development and delivery of the College PGR strategy, aligning with university strategies.
* Manage a team of senior administrative staff, overseeing PGR student management, funding, and compliance.
* Oversee funding allocation for studentships, working with finance to optimize resources.
* Analyze PGR data for reporting and strategic planning.
* Coordinate with the Doctoral Training Partnership to support funded PhD programmes.
* Line manage staff, supporting development and performance reviews.
* Build relationships with external partners to enhance PGR delivery.
* Support university projects and service improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to the university's international profile and strategic vision.
* Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Academic Governance and Graduate Administration.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Essential: Degree or equivalent, knowledge of governance in large organizations, understanding of HE sector and PGR funding, excellent communication, leadership, financial, and management skills, relevant experience in a similar role, data analysis, and stakeholder management.
Desirable: Knowledge of university funding, policies, UKRI funding bodies, and experience with finance systems like Agresso.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: Grade 8, £49,559 - £57,422. Full-time, open-ended position. Relocation support available. Visa sponsorship may be possible for eligible candidates.
