We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to lead the delivery of mechanical building services on a range of commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and process systems, with a proven ability to manage contracts from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for the delivery of mechanical packages on multiple construction projects, from tender through to final commissioning and handover.
Coordinate procurement, subcontractor management, and onsite installation activities to meet program and quality targets.
Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
Work closely with clients, consultants, and internal teams to resolve design or installation challenges.
Monitor financial performance, manage cost control, and provide regular reporting on project progress and commercial status.
Lead project meetings, manage variations and change control processes, and ensure accurate documentation.
Supervise and support site teams, ensuring strong communication and effective team performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills & Experience Required:
~5–10 years’ experience in mechanical contracts or project management roles within the construction or building services sector.
~ Extensive knowledge of HVAC, LPHW, CHW, domestic services, and BMS systems.
~ Strong project delivery background with a focus on quality, safety, and client satisfaction.
~ Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
~ Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
~ Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project planning software (e.g., MS Project, Asta).
Qualifications:
Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
SMSTS or equivalent health & safety certification.
CSCS or relevant trade card required.
IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable.
