Offer description

If you’re passionate about helping people turn their lives around, this is your chance to be part of something truly groundbreaking. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Support, Time & Recovery (STR) Worker to join our Enhanced RECONNECT Service, a pioneering NHS England initiative.

ER is a national pilot designed to support individuals leaving prison who have complex health needs and are at high risk of reoffending. These individuals may have convictions for serious offences, including violent or terrorism‑related crimes. Our mission is to reduce risk and promote recovery through a coordinated, partnership approach involving health services, criminal justice, housing, employment, and voluntary organisations.

Responsibilities

* Engage with service users before and after release, supporting their recovery and reintegration into the community.
* Work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver evidence‑based, recovery‑focused interventions tailored to individual needs.
* Work closely with a wide range of community services such as mental health, substance misuse, housing providers, and probation.
* Help individuals achieve sustainable positive outcomes and reduce the risk of reoffending.

What we’re looking for

* A motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic team player.
* Someone who thrives on making a difference and can work within a psychological framework to support recovery and risk management.

This is a unique opportunity to join an innovative service that changes lives and strengthens communities. If you’re ready to take on a rewarding role with real impact, apply today and help shape the future of recovery and rehabilitation!

Please note that due to the current workforce configuration in the team, this job is open for male applicants only.

Welcome to Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust. We provide a range of mental healthcare services across Birmingham and Solihull, as well as specialised services nationally. Our population is culturally diverse, characterised in places by high levels of deprivation which create an increasing demand for our services and a necessity for us to make sure everyone can access the help they need. We are a team of compassionate, inclusive and committed people working together to provide excellent care to support our community. If you are looking for a place to belong, where you can make a real difference to people’s lives, join our team where our warm welcome is waiting for you.

For further information about the main responsibilities please view the attached job description and person specification.
