We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented First Line Governance Manager to join our fast-paced Consumer Roadside division. You’ll play a key role in ensuring our operations meet the highest standards of compliance and customer outcomes under the FCA’s Consumer Duty guidelines.
We are looking for someone who is highly motivated with strong knowledge and experience in General Insurance Industry and of Consumer Duty. Practical experience in leading governance forums, producing documented packs, recording minutes and tracking actions will be an advantage. The role involves supporting the business with change and risk management so excellent stakeholder management across varying levels of the leadership and exec teams are essential.
This is a hybrid role, working 2 days a week from our Bradley Stoke office and 3 days a week at home
What you will do…
* Lead and manage governance approval forums: chair meetings, document minutes, challenge proposals, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
* Drive first-line compliance with Consumer Duty, supporting both BAU activities and project-based initiatives.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a culture of accountability and transparency.
* Conduct post-implementation reviews to assess customer outcomes and business impact.
* Support the development of training and awareness materials to promote understanding of compliance standards.
* Maintain accurate records and evidence of governance decisions and outcomes.
What you will need…
* Proven experience in financial services, ideally within a governance, compliance, or risk role.
* Strong understanding of Consumer Duty and its practical application.
* Understanding of personal lines insurance products, operating models and trading dynamics.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment whilst still delivery high standards.
