Overview
Pharmacy Assistant required on Saturdays and Sundays in the in-patient dispensary for the Freeman and RVI hospitals to support the weekend dispensary service.
This position would suit an undergraduate university student seeking new challenges in an innovative environment, with the aim to develop knowledge and skills in the dispensary setting of a large acute trust.

Contract: On-going fixed contract, with potential for a further fixed contract if funding is granted at the end of each period.
Responsibilities
* Provide technical support to dispensary services including routine procedures in ordering, distribution and storage of pharmaceutical stock.
* Undertake reception duties at the staff hatch, answer the dispensary telephone and ensure orders/prescriptions are entered on the prescription tracking system.
* Provide appropriate support as required to dispensary staff.
* Check off orders received into the dispensary in accordance with procedure.
* Replenish the Emergency Drug Cupboard and a variety of cardiac arrest boxes.
* Issue Controlled Drugs in response to a written order.
* Deliver drug bags to wards and departments throughout the hospital.

Organisation / Sites
Our staff oversee patient contacts and work across multiple hospital sites within the trust, including the Freeman Hospital and Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI).
