Position
As an Earthworks Design Engineer you will be responsible for analysing soil reports, advising on technical solutions, assessing the need for ground stabilization, and producing earthworks models using Civil 3‑D software. You will also dive into detail and recommend material choices, subsurface structures and contamination solutions. Your role will involve creating accurate cut/fill calculations, estimating quantities of surface/sub‑surface hard material for potential road or pavement use, and coordinating volumes and programs.
Responsibilities
* Analyse soil reports and advise on technical solutions.
* Determine conditions for ground stabilization.
* Produce earthworks models and contoured surfaces for 3‑D import.
* Model contaminated surfaces and calculate optimal cut/fill balances.
* Estimate quantities of hard material for road/pavement use such as capping or piling platforms.
* Coordinate programs, volumes and calculations of specific materials needed on site.
Qualifications
* Degree educated and Chartered status.
* 3 years or more of solid employment history in Civil Earthworks & Modelling.
* Experience with 3‑D Civil Software (Civil 3‑D) and Auto‑CAD.
* Ability to produce earthworks plans, quantities and supporting calculations.
* Strong communication skills and professional presentation of points.
* Capacity to work on site and coordinate with program managers.
* Willingness to be based in the Head office (no remote working).
