Job Responsibilities
* Hold an appropriate caseload and undertake key work, offering evidence‑based interventions to minimise waiting times
* Provide specialist CAMHS assessment and therapy to children, adolescents and their families with complex psychological, emotional and mental health difficulties
* Undertake risk assessments
* Assess suitability for treatment under CYP‑IAPT models (training provided)
* Work three days a week (Monday–Wednesday) applying systemic skills to individual, parental and family sessions or consultations with support and supervision from Family Therapists
* Attend university‑based taught and self‑study days required by the education provider (Thursday and Friday) and complete essays, case studies, a portfolio and present taped clinical work for supervision
Person Specification
Essential
* Understanding and experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs
* Knowledge and skills in motivational interviewing, solution‑focused therapy skills and other psychological therapies such as CBT, DBT and Family Therapy
* Relevant professional qualification (registered mental health nurse, learning disability nurse, occupational therapist, children’s social worker)
Desirable
* Experience of providing supervision and/or training
* Experience of working with children and young people with a wide range of mental health needs
