Arboricultural Support Officer - Wandsworth Common, London We are looking for an enthusiastic Arboricultural Support Officer to join our Parks team at Enable About Us The London Borough of Wandsworth has one of the richest varieties of green spaces in central London. Enable Leisure and Culture manages 32 parks, commons and green spaces as well as delivers leisure services such as outdoor events, filming, sports provision and wellbeing activities throughout the borough. The Arboricultural Team has responsibility in ensuring the borough’s trees are effectively managed. This involves inspecting the borough’s tree stock across Housing, Highways, Education and Parks, organising necessary work with the council’s tree work contractors, determining applications to work on protected trees and providing advice to the borough’s Planning Department. You will have experience supporting a team of specialists and will be able to demonstrate where you have provided excellent customer service. The ideal candidate is an organise and friendly individual who relishes providing support and assistance and achieving team goals. The focus will be on quality interactions with members of the public and external stakeholders, providing swift and professional responses at all times. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Providing comprehensive administrative support and office management duties for the Arboricultural Team Providing a customer-focused front line reception service for the Parks Office Logging calls and answering enquiries, recording complaints, process planning applications from WBC Planning Department and assist with developing admin processes for the team Liaising with council departments, external and internal stakeholders and members of the public Raising Purchase Orders or Invoices and maintaining records by budget holders working closely with our Finance team Other tasks as assigned by Head of Service or Senior Arboricultural Officer Skills and Experience: Excellent communication skills, telephone manner and experience dealing with enquiries and complaints Ability to develop, implement and improve administrative systems Good IT skills, particularly in the use of Excel, Outlook and Sharepoint Willingness to learn use of specialist software for tree inventory and planning applications Ability to prioritise and organise own workload and to work on own initiative Team work and ability to establish good working relationships with contractors and colleagues across various sites and services
