Financial Crime & AML Lawyer – National Law Firm?? Manchester (Open to other locations so please reach out)2/3 days a week in office We're working with a leading national law firm who are looking to bring on board a Financial Crime & AML Lawyer to join their growing compliance team. This is a great opportunity to shape and influence anti-money laundering (AML) and financial crime (FC) strategy at a top-tier firm with a strong reputationacross the UK.Not just a technical role but a role that will have a real impact across the firm.The Role?You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the business to ensure compliance with AML regulations and financial crime obligations. The role is key to protecting the integrity of the firm’s operations and clients, and involves advising on risk assessments, policy implementation, horizon scanning, and reporting.Key responsibilities include:
* Leading on complex AML/FC compliance queries, including sanctions, fraud, bribery, and SAR reporting
* Supporting the Head of AML & FC, MLCO and MLRO on regulatory compliance and internal processes
* Drafting, reviewing and implementing firm-wide AML and FC policies and procedures
* Conducting internal investigations and managing the SAR process
* Collaborating with legal, risk, compliance and business development teams to manage risk exposure
* Delivering internal training and advising on legislative changes and regulatory risk
* Supporting responses to regulatory audits and liaising with external bodies when required
About You??? Qualified solicitor with strong AML/FC legal expertise in a regulated professional services or law firm environment?? In-depth knowledge of UK AML laws, POCA, sanctions, ABC, fraud, and tax evasion legislation??
