Position:
We are looking to appoint a 'Job Coach' to join our work experience team here at Henshaws as we look to expand our provision for the upcoming academic year.
The successful applicant will work closely with young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to enable them to pursue their ambitions in relation to gaining sustainable employment. The role will include developing, building, supporting and maintaining relationships with local and regional employers to enhance work experience provision.
Due to the personal care needs of individuals supported, this role is open to female applicants only (exempt under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1). The role may involve delivering personal care to female students. To preserve dignity and meet student's support preferences, we require a female job coach.
Key Responsibilities
* To prepare and coach students before taking up a work opportunity, transitioning into a placement and throughout the placement
* To train students to learn and succeed at the work opportunity using task analysis and Systematic Instruction
* To use the "place, train and fade model" in developing the tasks involved in the job
* To support employers in making reasonable adjustments for students and seeking advice from college therapy teams where required
* To ensure that all progress towards student targets is recorded accurately and sufficient evidence is submitted
* To promote inclusion, participation and encourage learner independence
Contract : Permanent
Working Hours per week : 22.5 hours (Tues / Weds / Thurs)
Working Weeks per year : 40 weeks
Salary : £13.98 per hour, £14,733.52 per annum

Requirements:
* Good standard of Maths and English
* Willingness to assist students with any personal care requirements as needed
* Ability to contribute, follow and evaluate work experience placements in support of the work experience co-ordinator
* Willingness to support students in a way that promotes their independence and development
* Willingness to take responsibility for your own personal and professional development, including CPD where appropriate. Undertake training and development in line with agreed annual appraisal
