Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Millwright/Welder role based in Sudbury. The Millwright/Welder will install, maintain, and repair heavy industrial equipment, including crushers, bearings, conveyors, and related mechanical systems. Daily responsibilities include performing mechanical alignments, assembling and disassembling machinery, fabricating and welding components, and interpreting technical drawings and schematics. The role involves conducting routine inspections, diagnosing mechanical issues, and completing repairs to minimize downtime. The Millwright/Welder will also work closely with other technicians and supervisors to plan work, follow safety procedures, and document all maintenance and repair activities.
Qualifications
* Strong skills in Maintenance & Repair and Preventive Maintenance for heavy industrial equipment.
* Ability to perform effective Troubleshooting on mechanical systems and components.
* Proficient use of Hand Tools for assembly, disassembly, fitting, and mechanical adjustments.
* Proficient use of Power Tools and shop equipment for cutting, grinding, drilling, and fabrication.
* Demonstrated welding and fabrication experience (e.g., MIG, TIG, stick, cutting, and fitting steel).
* Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
* Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship as an Industrial Millwright and/or Welder, or equivalent experience.
* Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards in heavy industrial settings.
* Physical ability to work in industrial environments, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces as required.
* Previous experience in mining, construction, or heavy industrial operations is an asset.
