Teaching Assistant – Specialist Unit, Full Time, Contract
Northampton
Salary: NJC Grade 3–4 (actual salary dependent on hours)
Start date: September 2025 – August 2026
The School and Role
A primary school specialist unit is seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team. You will help plan and deliver targeted learning activities, support pupils with SEND through routines and transitions, and assist with behaviour and inclusion. Working closely with teachers and support staff, you'll contribute to a nurturing environment where every child is valued and encouraged to flourish.
Requirements
Only candidates with the essential qualifications and proven UK school experience will be considered.
1. NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Teaching Assistance, and/or GCSEs (C/4 or above) in English & Maths
2. Experience working with pupils within a UK primary specialist or SEND unit
3. Ability to support differentiated learning, routines, and positive behaviour strategies
4. Strong teamwork and communication skills
5. An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply
