Job Description
As a Senior Estates Surveyor, you’ll be instrumental in managing and optimising our property portfolio across the UK. You’ll deliver strategic estate management across a large geographical region, ensuring our assets support business priorities and deliver long-term value for our restaurants, franchisees, and customers.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Manage a diverse commercial property portfolio for a Global brand
* Lead lease negotiations, rent reviews, renewals, and land acquisitions/disposals
* Provide strategic advice on estate optimisation, cost control, and asset performance
* Liaise with landlords, agents, solicitors, and internal stakeholders
* Support store redevelopment and relocations
* Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and internal governance
* Prepare and present property deals, valuations, and recommendations to senior leadership
* Advise on planning, development, rating systems, compulsory purchase, and compensation
* Represent McDonald’s in industry bodies such as RICS, PMA, and Accessible Retail
Qualifications
What You’ll Need
* MRICS qualified with 5 - 6 years post-qualified experience in estates or property management
* Strong knowledge of UK landlord and tenant law, property legislation, and commercial leases
* Experience managing large, complex property portfolios, ideally in retail or FMCG
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently across a wide geographical area
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly
* Experience in QSR, food retail, or global brand (Desirable)
* Familiarity with sustainability and ESG in property management (Desirable)
* Strong analytical and reporting skills, including use of property management systems
