Who are we?
Optos is a leading medical device company engaged in designing, developing, manufacturing, and marketing ultra-widefield retinal imaging devices.
Our devices are used globally in opticians, optometrists, and hospitals, enabling clinicians to capture an optomap image of the retina. This facilitates early detection and treatment of conditions like retinal detachments, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related degeneration. The images can also reveal signs of non-eye diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and certain cancers. Optos is committed to using the latest technology to develop new products and software that uphold optomap as a standard of care, helping eye care professionals worldwide save sight and lives.
Job Overview
We are seeking a Stock Controller to join our Global Operations department in Dunfermline on an 18-month Fixed Term Contract. You will work within a lean, customer-focused warehouse and logistics environment responsible for meeting material movement demands. As a Modern Apprentice, you will undergo a comprehensive training program in partnership with Fife College, based in the workplace, to become a fully qualified stock controller upon completion.
What skills will I learn?
* Goods In Processing: GRN, RMA & RTV receipts, stock labelling, locating, and material transfers.
* Sales order Processing: Order picking, processing, and logistics fulfillment.
* Production Kitting: Manufacturing order generation/processing, lineside and kit stock replenishment, finished product processing.
* Cycle Counting: Perpetual cycle counting.
* ERP System Processing: Ensuring all stock movements are transacted efficiently and accurately.
* Housekeeping: Working within a “6’s” environment.
* Contributing to the Department’s Continuous Improvement program.
Qualifications and qualities required
* Experience using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
* Strong administrative and organizational skills.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Highly numerate; must hold a Nat 5 or equivalent in English and Math.
* A self-starter with a flexible attitude.
* Willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges.
Benefits
Optos offers a competitive salary of £17,000, working 37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday. The position is scheduled to start in early August 2025.
