About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support laboratory operations within a regulated ISO17025 environment. This role involves specimen processing, laboratory support activities, quality assurance tasks and maintaining accurate documentation to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work both collaboratively and independently, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring high standards of laboratory practice and data integrity.

Key Responsibilities
* Support laboratory operations including processing and analysis of test specimens
* Log, scan, and manage samples using internal systems and databases
* Perform initial quality control checks and ensure correct sample storage
* Maintain accurate documentation for traceability within an ISO17025 environment
* Prepare reagents and manage chemical and reagent stock levels
* Conduct in-house quality measurements and calibration of laboratory equipment
* Perform cell lysis and operate light microscopy equipment
* Receive, catalogue, and manage laboratory supplies and chemicals
* Monitor sample data completeness and communicate updates to relevant teams
* Maintain customer stock levels and coordinate shipments between laboratories
* Follow good laboratory practices and health & safety procedures at all times
* Work in cold storage environments when required, wearing appropriate PPE
* Safely handle and move laboratory samples and equipment (up to 15 kg)
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe laboratory workspace
* Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives
* Collaborate effectively with team members while working independently when required
* Perform additional duties aligned with the role as needed
Requirements
* Degree in Life Sciences or a related scientific discipline
* Experience working in a laboratory operating to ISO17025 standards
* Strong pipetting skills and practical laboratory experience
* Comfortable working with chemicals in a laboratory setting
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
* Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer systems
* Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely
* Comfortable working in cold environments and performing manual handling tasks
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
