RSVP Relationship & Project Coordinator Are you ready to be a part of the Next Generation Research SuperVision Project (RSVP) team? RSVP is a groundbreaking, research culture change project looking to transform research supervision practice and culture. Funded by Research England and supported by the UK's top research councils, Wellcome Trust, and the Crick Institute, we believe this is the largest ever funded project into doctoral supervision. Led by Dr. Karen Clegg at the University of York and Professor Doug Cleaver, Sheffield Hallam University, the core consortia also includes the University of Nottingham, King's College London, Coventry University, and the UK Council for Graduate Education. RSVP project partners include over 50 Universities and industry giants such as Unilever, GSK, and the BBC who we are working with to help shape the future of research supervision. Working with our practitioner partners based in universities we are now entering a critical implementation and co-creation stage of the project and require additional capacity to help to facilitate the sharing and capturing of good practice in CPD for research supervisors. Department This new role will form part of the core RSVP team based at the University of York in the School for Arts and Creative Industries (ACT) on Campus East. You will also work with colleagues in the York Graduate Research School and related project teams as well as with the project consortium partners, expert design team and evaluation team. Role Working at the interface between the central design team and the practitioner partners, the R&P coordinator’s role is to enable the facilitation of shared learning and reflection on the opportunities and barriers to implementation of wide scale professional development for research supervisors within different institutional contexts. To maximise the great work taking place across the sector and industry you will bring together supervisor developers, pedagogic experts and key stakeholders to share practice, learn from each other and enable. The coordinator’s role is pivotal in supporting the effective implementation and evaluation of; professional development interventions, workshops, communities of practice, and supervision observations at universities across the UK and beyond. You'll work directly with our partner organisations and play a key role in achieving project outcomes. You will also be involved with the organisation of events and dissemination of project outcomes. Skills, Experience & Qualification needed An ability to facilitate the sharing of practice between supervisor developers across a number of culturally diverse organisations through meetings, communities of practice and events (online and face to face) Finely honed communication, presentation and coordination skills An ability to build and develop strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders from academic and professional contexts.
