Exclusive recruitment for a Learning & Development Manager role in Derby. This is a standalone L&D position within a successful, family‑styled retail business that invests in its people. You will have freedom to shape the L&D agenda and drive real change across the business.
Base pay range: This range is provided by Distinct | B Corp. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.
Responsibilities
* Designing and delivering engaging learning solutions across the business, with a blended approach combining in-person and digital training.
* Designing and leading the Store Management Development Programme, focusing on coaching and developing store colleagues, commercial awareness and customer journeys.
* Owning and managing the company’s apprenticeship scheme, ensuring colleagues have access to meaningful career development opportunities and building relationships with colleges and apprenticeship providers.
* Partnering with senior leaders to identify training needs and implement creative, practical solutions.
* Embedding a learning culture that empowers colleagues at every level.
What are we looking for?
* An experienced L&D professional with a proven track record in designing and delivering training programmes.
* Confident working in a standalone role, with the initiative to set direction and make things happen.
* Experience in delivering and leading training programmes in a retail or hospitality environment.
* Enthusiastic, creative, and full of ideas – ready to inspire and engage colleagues across the business.
* Experienced in blended learning methods, combining classroom, on-the-job, and digital platforms.
* Passionate about people development, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
