About the Role:

* Handling both adult and young detainees with appropriate protocols.
* Engaging with young detainees during transport, providing reassurance and support.
* Providing court staff with detainee information and supervising young detainees at court.
* Returning detainees to their establishments and completing necessary paperwork.
* Managing the emotional demands of supporting vulnerable young people.
What You Need to Succeed:
Our current DBOs come from diverse backgrounds, but what matters most is your commitment to making a difference. You’ll receive comprehensive training during a 5 1/2-week course and ongoing support. Here’s what we’re looking for:
* A current driver's licence (B/B1).
* Reasonable fitness to handle the physical demands of the role.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* A genuine interest in working with children and young people.
* Ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
* Quick decision-making skills in challenging situations.
* Collaborative spirit to ensure the safety and well-being of detainees.
* Meticulous in following protocols and completing paperwork.
* Skilled in de-escalating conflicts and managing challenging behaviour.
* High ethical standards and commitment to confidentiality.
