Overview

The Wellbeing and Mental Health Service at the University of Chester are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Adviser to join our multi-disciplinary Student Services Department. This is an opportunity to use your professional expertise in a supportive higher education environment, helping students to thrive academically and personally. Mental Health Advisers play a key role in managing the increasing incidence of complex mental health cases across the University. You will work with a diverse caseload, providing one-to-one support, risk assessments, crisis intervention, group sessions and awareness campaigns. Mental Health Advisers work closely with colleagues in Student Wellbeing, Counselling and Disability & Inclusion, as well as collaborating with other internal teams and external services. We offer a supportive team culture and independent supervision. Responsibilities

* Provide one-to-one mental health support to students and contribute to crisis intervention when needed.
* Conduct risk assessments and participate in safety planning for students in need.
* Deliver group sessions and contribute to awareness campaigns within the university community.
* Collaborate with colleagues in Student Wellbeing, Counselling and Disability & Inclusion, and liaise with other internal teams and external services as required.

Requirements / Qualifications
