We are seeking a Senior Billing Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and contribute to the growth and success of our firm. The right individual will collaborate with Holland & Knight’s Partners and their assistants to generate monthly client invoices/bills. This position offers the flexibility to work from home, with periodic in-office presence required for monthly team meetings, events, and training. The role can be based in our operation center in Brandon, FL (Tampa Bay area), or at one of our practice offices in Dallas, Chicago, Atlanta, Birmingham, Boston, Charlotte, Houston, Nashville, Orlando, Philadelphia, Stamford, Tampa, Tysons, or Washington, D.C.
Key Responsibilities Include:
* Process client bills using Aderant software.
* Research and resolve billing questions.
* Review and edit pre-bills based on attorney and secretary requests.
* Handle a high volume of complex bills.
* Verify the accuracy of billing and supporting documentation.
* Prepare ad hoc reports for attorneys as needed.
* Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of progressive experience as a Biller in a law firm environment.
* Experience with Aderant software preferred.
* E-Billing experience is a plus.
* Proficiency with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
* Ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
* Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Self-starter capable of adapting to changing priorities and work demands.
* Ability to multi-task, organize workflow, and utilize time efficiently.
* Exceptional analytical skills.
* Ability to anticipate work needs.
* Understanding of accounts payable processes and related applications (e.g., Chrome River).
* Proactive in identifying issues and proposing solutions.
* Bachelor’s degree required or relevant legal work experience substituted.
