Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a range of supportive secondary schools across Northampton, who are looking to appoint reliable and confident Cover Supervisors from January 2026. Schools are offering flexible full-time or part-time opportunities, with long-term placements that may lead to permanent roles for the right candidates.
As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by supervising pre-planned lessons during teacher absences. You'll help create a positive and well-managed classroom environment while supporting students to stay engaged and on task.
Key responsibilities:
Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4
Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment
Providing clear instructions and guidance to students
Supporting pupils with lesson tasks where appropriate
Reporting back on student engagement, behaviour, and progress
The ideal candidate will:
Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)
Be confident leading a classroom and promoting positive behaviour
Be open to flexible working patterns, either full-time or part-time
Be interested in a long-term role with the potential for permanent employment
Demonstrate strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
