Technical Sales Manager - Power Burners
Job Summary: The Sales Manager will be responsible for developing the power burner business in Europe from initial customer contact through to order and project implementation, supporting the project execution team. You will raise proposals of varying degrees of complexity that may involve small components or multi-million-pound contracts.
The COMPANY: Our client is a well-established global manufacturer of power and combustion equipment serving industries such as petrochemical, power stations, oil & gas, etc. Their market-leading product range includes thermal oxidizers, burners, flare systems, and pollution control equipment.
The ROLE: An opportunity has arisen for a talented Technical Sales Manager to join their successful team. Responsibilities include:
1. Implement a sales strategy and drive it through to successful completion.
2. Identify business opportunities by initiating customer contact and developing prospects into inquiries.
3. Support customers with feasibility studies and evaluation of enquiries, developing work scopes, which may involve equipment supply or site services.
4. Visit customer plants and conduct site surveys (EMEA region) and problem-solving as needed.
5. Develop competitive or innovative solutions to meet customer requirements.
6. Carry out process and engineering design, sizing, and optimizing equipment.
7. Obtain supplier pricing and prepare project budgets.
8. Liaise with salespersons/agents, project engineers, purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing.
9. Prepare technical and commercial proposals, review and negotiate terms, and close orders.
10. Handover orders to project engineers for execution and provide post-order support.
The CANDIDATE: The successful candidate will be a professional with experience in a similar environment, possessing the confidence and skills to develop a career within a market-leading organization. Requirements include:
* A strong 'all-round' engineer with a solid technical and commercial understanding.
* Mechanical or process engineering qualification, with practical commissioning or site experience preferred.
* Experience in the oil and gas industry.
* Experience selling projects within the UK & EMEA.
* Knowledge of combustion equipment is advantageous but not essential.
* Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally (2-3 day trips, expenses covered, additional allowances provided).
Salary: circa £70K depending on experience plus an excellent package including pension, healthcare, dental, life insurance, critical illness cover, gym membership, etc.
