Roles that require PVG Membership
Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above (including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above, currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour).
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members. This cost will be deducted from the employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.
Job purpose/about the role
The Housing Property Officer supports the Council in delivering a place where all people can prosper by providing efficient lease signing, termination, and void processes for customers and colleagues. The role involves helping tenants and their families sustain their tenancies by working with the Housing and Support Officer, other colleagues, and external partners. This includes providing information to tenants and signposting them to relevant services.

* Standard Grade or Equivalent
Skills and abilities:
* Proven ability to deliver public services to required standards
* Ability to work autonomously and use own initiative
* Effective organisation and prioritisation skills
* Experience dealing with the public in difficult, confrontational, and sensitive situations
* Ability to work to challenging deadlines
* Effective communication skills in both oral and written forms for a wide audience
* Good record-keeping skills
* Proficiency in computer packages, e.g., Microsoft Office
