Job Title: Designated Safeguarding Lead
Salary: Up to £32,000.00 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our close-knit team at New Barn School, part of Acorn Education.
The successful applicant will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and pupil protection for the school. They will participate in strategy discussions and inter-agency meetings and contribute to pupil assessments.
They will advise and support staff on pupil welfare and protection matters and liaise with relevant agencies such as the local authority and police.
Some safeguarding activities may be delegated to deputies, but you will retain lead responsibility and ensure high standards are maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Refer suspected abuse cases to the local authority pupil’s social care.
2. Support staff in making referrals to local authority pupil’s social care.
3. Refer cases to the Channel programme for radicalisation concerns.
4. Support staff in making referrals to the Channel programme.
5. Experience in a safeguarding role in education.
6. Full UK Driving Licence.
