Our client, a well-established and expanding company in the construction and engineering sector, is looking for a Commercial Assistant to join their team in Northampton. This is a temporary role to provide maternity cover, but as the business continues to grow, there may be longer-term opportunities available.
The Role
This is a varied and rewarding position where you’ll provide support to a busy Commercial department and work closely with colleagues across different teams. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Providing general administrative support
* Processing subcontractor applications and invoices
* Preparing reports and supporting the Commercial Director and surveyors
* Assisting with cash flow and cost information
* Collating timesheet and cost allocation details
* Liaising with the Labour department to update resourcing profiles
* Assisting with supply chain compliance, audits, and KPI tracking
What We’re Looking For
Our client is seeking someone who is:
* Organised, with strong attention to detail
* Confident using IT (Microsoft Office is essential; accounting systems experience is a bonus)
* Able to communicate well with colleagues at all levels
* Proactive, eager to learn, and willing to get involved wherever needed
Experience in a similar role would be advantageous but is not essential – the right attitude and willingness to develop are more important.
