Vollebak is a fast-growing start-up menswear brand which specialises in material technology – we’re 2x winners at TIME Best Inventions and our designs include clothing ranges built for Mars and Titan as well as the apocalypse. We operate on a drop basis vs traditional seasonal collections and are planning to take our first steps into physical retail and wholesale this year – and we’re looking for a talented and experienced Merchandise Manager to join our team. This newly-created full-time role will lead the merchandising function across the business, working closely with the MD and collaborating across all business areas to plan the buy, trade stock and achieve company KPIs. The successful candidate will complete work already started in establishing the correct merchandise planning processes – monitoring, controlling and linking the work of creative director, design, production, logistics and finance. Your experience should help us build out our own network of retail stores as well as developing a wholesale business. Responsibilities The responsibilities for this role include: developing and embedding best practice merchandise planning processes continually reviewing seasonal and perennial trade, communicating trade to the business, and implementing trading actions to achieve KPIs build and maintain close working relationships with cross functional teams to deliver annual strategy OTB management and proactively contribute to the buying selection using sales history, analytics and KPIs leading the planning process for the business, propose best practice regarding range building, sizing, colour balance and global price management working with production managers to ensure timely delivery samples and seasonal bulk into business, as well ensuring perennial is always in stock supporting and shaping the development of an owned retail and wholesale business reviewing and managing archive sales and process. Skills and experience The skills and experience we’re looking for include: merchandising experience that spans blue chip retail and fashion monobrands – we’re looking for someone who’s learnt their trade within a blue chip retail company, and gone on to make an impact in a fashion monobrand that encompasses ecommerce, owned retail and wholesale able to demonstrate a history of creating positive business impact through merchandising experience of cross-functional collaboration, from design and production through to finance and logistics strong analytical and numerical skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel confident, assertive team player – able to build and develop relationships with other internal teams for business improvement able to communicate complex information clearly and concisely, both in person and in writing.
