We are currently recruiting part time support staff to work with Rebecca, a lady living in the Wishaw area of North Lanarkshire. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced support worker who has experience of autism and mental health. “I am Rebecca, I am intelligent, funny and I have a great sense of humour. I am very artistic; I love having nice clothes and my passion is makeup. I enjoy doing my own and others makeup. I am polite and confident around people who know me well, although I do like to have my own space too. It is important to me to be as independent as possible around my home and community, this increases my self-esteem and confidence. I like to have structure in my days and a steady routine, this helps me with my motivation and anxieties. I enjoy dancing and listening to music, I enjoy the freedom of movement and how it makes me feel. I can play the guitar, and this helps relax me. I was diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder when I was a teenager and I live with an eating disorder called Anorexia Nervosa, I require support to maintain my independence and encourage my daily routine.” What I am looking for… Someone who is gentle, kind and caring and can ask me how I am feeling. Someone who will include me in what is happening and encourage me to take part in things, increasing my independence. Someone calmly confident in a stressful situation as I can pick up on the moods of people around me and this can make me anxious.
