Job Title: Locum Consultant in Palliative Medicine
Location: Marie Curie, Bradford Hospice
Salary: NHS Pay Circular M&D 1/2026 £113,565 to £150,569 per annum (Placement on the salary scale is dependent on experience).
Availability supplement: 1 in 8 Consultant on-call commitment, 5% availability supplement
Hours: 10 PAs + an additional0.125 PA per week.
Contract: 6-month fixed-term contract – with the potential for ongoing permanent sessions

The post holder will work as part of a wider multidisciplinary team to support palliative care provision in both the in-patient unit and the Marie Curie REACT virtual ward, with the Emergency department in reach. The post holder will provide a visible, accessible, and authoritative presence to whom staff, patients, and carers can turn for assistance, advice, and support.
The role also involves participation in the hospital's training and education work, ., undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes, clinical supervision of junior medical staff, and collaboration with internal and external healthcare professionals.
In addition, the post holder will be expected to engage with the service's management, clinical governance, research, and service development activities.
Applicants must have full GMC registration and be on, or eligible within 6 months of, the interview date to be included on the GMC Specialist Register for Palliative Medicine (via CCT, CESR, or EC rights).
