About the Company
Our client is a well-established residential groundworks contractor, delivering high-quality civil engineering and groundwork packages to major housebuilders across the region. Known for their commitment to safety, quality, and efficient project delivery, they have built long-standing partnerships within the housing sector.
They are now seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team, supporting the successful delivery of multiple residential developments.
The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Quantity Surveyor with experience in residential groundworks to join a reputable and growing contractor. The successful candidate will oversee all commercial and financial aspects of groundworks projects, ensuring profitability, compliance, and efficiency from tender to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and valuations.
- Conduct take-offs and prepare accurate tender submissions.
- Manage subcontractor procurement, payments, and variations.
- Prepare and agree interim valuations and final accounts with clients.
- Monitor and report on project costs, forecasts, and cash flow.
- Liaise closely with site management teams and clients to resolve commercial queries.
- Ensure all documentation and records are maintained in line with company standards.
- Support commercial reporting and contribute to monthly financial reviews.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks or residential civil engineering sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and estimating/costing systems.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management (HNC/HND/Degree preferred).
Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit sites as required.
