We are looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Junior Office Administrator to join our busy fuel distribution operation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys dealing with people, is confident handling cash and administration tasks, and is keen to develop a career in office administration or operations.
This is a varied and hands-on position, acting as the first point of contact for customers, visitors and drivers while also supporting day-to-day office and operational activities.
The Role
As a Junior Office Administrator, you will provide efficient front-of-house and administrative support, ensuring the office runs smoothly and professionally at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
Front of House & Customer Service
Acting as the first point of contact for customers, visitors, drivers and contractors
Greeting visitors professionally and ensuring site sign-in procedures are followed
Answering incoming calls and directing enquiries appropriately
Providing a friendly, helpful and professional service at all times
Till & Cash Handling
Operating the till and accurately processing cash and card transactions
Processing fuel-related payments, invoices and receipts
Following company cash-handling and financial control procedures
Office Administration
Carrying out general administrative duties including filing, data entry and document management
Assisting with delivery paperwork, driver documentation and customer records
Supporting invoicing, purchase orders and basic finance administration
Maintaining accurate records in line with company procedures
Operational Support
Liaising with drivers and operations staff regarding paperwork and queries
Supporting the office team with day-to-day operational tasks
Ensuring reception and office areas are kept tidy and professional
Health, Safety & Compliance
Adhering to all health, safety and site security procedures, particularly within a fuel environment
Following company policies and procedures at all times
About You
Essential:
Good standard of education, including English and Maths
Some experience in a customer-facing role (retail, reception, hospitality or similar)
Experience handling cash, card payments or operating a till
Good verbal and written communication skills
Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry
Friendly, professional and approachable manner
Reliable, punctual and trustworthy
Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
Desirable:
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
Business Administration or Customer Service qualification (or working towards)
Previous office administration experience
Experience in a logistics, transport, fuel or industrial environment
Knowledge of office administration processes and health & safety requirements
