Our client is looking to recruit for a proactive and detail‑driven Stores Operator to support our busy logistics function. This role plays a vital part in ensuring materials flow smoothly through the business, from goods‑in to production and finished goods handling. Key Responsibilities
As a Stores Operator, you will:
Manage the receipt of incoming materials, ensuring all items are checked, booked into the system, and stored accurately and efficiently.
Distribute materials, sub‑assemblies, and finished goods to the correct internal departments using Kanban triggers, Work‑to‑Lists, and kitting lists.
Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the warehouse, ensuring a clean, safe, and well‑presented environment at all times.
Follow all Health & Safety procedures, completing risk assessments and reporting incidents or near misses promptly.
Work closely with the Cell Coordinator to meet output targets and escalate issues when required.
Support continuous improvement (CIP) activities using SYNCHRO principles and tools.
Carry out routine stock control tasks including cycle counting, stock relocation, labelling, and packaging.
Ensure all material transactions and system updates are completed accurately across all platforms.
Assist with the movement and packing of finished goods from production lines to the AEO storage area.
Follow training plans to maintain full skills coverage across the Stores team.
About You
Essential experience and skills:
Previous experience using ERP systems and/or handheld picking devices.
Confident IT user, including Microsoft Office and email.
Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
This role is initially for 6 months but with a strong likelihood of extension based upon continued order volumes.
Hours:
8am - 4pm (Monday to Friday)
Pay:
£12.90 per hour rising to £13.21 per hour after 12 weeks have been completed. Overtime rates also available
