Job Description
Overview We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering contractor delivering mechanical installations and maintenance across industrial, utilities, and infrastructure projects. Due to continued growth, we're seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team.
Key Duties
* Perform general mechanical duties, including installation and maintenance.
* Install and align mechanical equipment such as motors, gearboxes, and bearings.
* Fabricate and fit steel support systems.
* Conduct fault-finding and repair work on mechanical systems.
* Assist other disciplines (Electrical or Civils) when required.
* Ensure responsible use of a company vehicle.
* Work away from home on occasion (typically Monday–Friday).
Health & Safety Responsibilities
* Follow all company and site-specific Health & Safety policies.
* Review and sign onto all relevant CPP/RAMS before starting work.
* Comply with Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments.
* Maintain a strong safety-first attitude at all times.
Qualifications & Training
* Mechanical apprenticeship or Level 3 Mechanical qualification (essential).
* CSCS Card holder (essential).
* Confined Space trained (desirable)
* Lifting Operations (CPCS) – desirable.
* First Aid – desirable.
* Health and Safety (IOSH) – desirable.
