Our stunning care home, Guiseley Manor Care Centre, is a purpose-built 72-bed facility located in Guiseley, West Yorkshire, Leeds. We provide residential, nursing, and dementia care, maintaining high standards of safety, comfort, and care. We invest in the latest technology and offer daily activities and gentle exercises to enhance residents' wellbeing. Our team members are carefully selected for their warmth and passion, with comprehensive induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers and the New Care Academy. We pride ourselves on employing a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care, paying all staff at or above the national living wage.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our team. The role involves working with the Head Chef to ensure high-quality food service that supports residents' needs and enhances their experience. The position offers a 40-hour contract with an hourly rate of £12.75, with shifts from 07:30 to 17:30 and alternate weekends.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Present and display menus clearly, allowing residents to make daily food choices.
2. Provide meals in sufficient quantities, considering dietary, ethnic, and personal preferences.
3. Ensure all food is nutritionally balanced, attractively presented, timely, and served in the correct sequence.
4. Follow and adhere to company HACCP protocols, ensuring full compliance.
5. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and serving areas, adhering to infection control standards and the Food Standards Act 1999, keeping records of cleaning routines.
6. Manage and supervise the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef, ensuring quality service delivery.
7. Inspire and motivate the team to produce food that meets high standards.
Skills and Experience Required:
1. Experience working during busy meal periods, including breakfast and evening meals.
2. Experience working in a care home or similar setting.
3. Knowledge of specialized diets and service delivery.
4. Ability to contribute to and develop the four-week menu.
5. Ability to complete records demonstrating legal compliance.
