BMindful Psychology are currently recruiting a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to support our clients in the East Midlands region with a focus in and around Northamptonshire and Leicestershire

Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and passionate Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist to join our growing team. The successful candidate will provide specialist therapeutic support to children and adolescents experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties. This role involves multi-disciplinary working with a range of professionals to create tailored and effective psychological interventions, ensuring positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide specialist psychological assessments of children and young people based upon the appropriate use, interpretation and integration of data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, observations and information gathering from those involved in children and young people’s care, such as, parents, local authorities, schools etc

Formulate and support the implementation of tailored plans of therapeutic intervention for children and young people’s individual mental health needs

Undertake consultations with care providers, educators, parents/guardians, and supporting them to understand the psychological basis of a young person’s presentation and enabling them to provide holistic therapeutic care

Support the delivery of one to one private therapy sessions with individuals

Undertaking formal reviews and consultations with parents/carers and recommending appropriate therapeutic approaches and interventions

To exercise professional judgment and responsibility for the therapeutic management of children and young people including assessment, formulation, intervention, discharge and effective communication of these plans with other professionals involved in the care of the young person

Provide advice on the therapeutic/psychological aspects or risk assessment and management to other professions

To effectively monitor the progress of interventions

Maintain accurate and confidential client records in line with professional and legal standards

Contribute to service development and attend regular team meetings and supervision sessions

Qualifications and Skills

Recognised qualification in relevant discipline.

Registration with equivalent professional body (HCPC, BACP, BABCP, UKCP, ACP)

Proven experience working with children and young people within the Child Looked After sector.

Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approaches.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with children, young people, and the teams around them.

Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young
