We are currently recruiting for an Scientific officer based in Lisburn. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork, ANI clearance has been completed.
Start date: ASAP
Duration: Initially 6 months with a view for this to be extended
Rate of pay: £15.97
Hours of work : Monday to Friday 9-5 (37 hours)
Key Responsibilities:
This is a temporary appointment to provide support for the Water Utilities Regulation Team and Private Sewage Team. The role is to assist scientific staff with their day-to-day role, provide support on site visits and the compliance of those sites. The post holder must have the ability to deliver results at pace and to manage work against agreed timetables and competing priorities. The post holder must be physically capable of walking/hiking significant distances, so to partake in required site visits and also hold a full UK driving licence. The post holder will be expected to have good interpersonal and communications skills, as well as good analytical and problem-solving skills. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly within the overall team and should be at ease in working with senior staff and communicating to external stakeholders on a daily basis. The post holder will be expected to work on their own initiative and provide a positive contribution to the overall success of the team. Any other duties that may be required by line management.
Essential Criteria applicants must have:
Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent to this.
• IT skills (incl. use of Microsoft Word & Excel.
• ArcGIS.
• Excellent written & oral communication skills.
• Evidence of using own initiative.
• Clean driving licencee.
