Morgan Hunt's client is looking for a homeworking Business Rates Officer to join their team.
In order to be immediately effective in this position the ideal candidate will have previous experience with:
* Administering the Billing, Collection and Recovery of Business Rates
* Opening, closing and amending business rates accounts
* Processing payments and setting up payment plans and attachment orders
* Applying discounts, reliefs and exemptions
* Liaising with external companies such as Bailiffs with regards to direct payments, progress on cases and account amendments.
* Preparing documents for Magistrate court and assist court officers throughout committal process as well as providing advice to tax payers.
* Preparing case documents for the Valuation Tribunal
* Reconciling property valuation bands with the Valuation Officer and ensure the database remains up to date.
* Tracing absconded Business Rates Payments
* Issuing reminders, final notices and summonses
* Dealing with enquiries by telephone, face to face and written correspondence on all queries related to NNDR.
* Reviewing all NNDR applications for exemptions and ensure they have been processed and verified correctly
