Role Purpose
The role, based within the Service Consultancy Team, is both internal and external customer facing. You will provide SME input throughout QinetiQ’s service portfolio, including Pre bid and Bid evaluation. Provide advice and guidance within the Service Architecture environment and Service Management practices within projects and programmes.
The purpose of this role is to work with customer facing teams to design and deliver service integration, support and management models to meet customer requirements and service or solution deliverables using industry best practice methodologies across the full service lifecycle.
The Service Consultant will work in a customer facing role which may include working in a service management and delivery team, with responsibility for day-to-day operational delivery assurance of managed services across a large complex programme. You will work closely with key customer stakeholders, service teams and 3rd party suppliers to ensure services are maintained and that the customer receives exemplary service delivery.
Key Accountabilities
* Working as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), provide Service lifecycle input into bid responses and proposals, including the identification and derivation of customer and business requirements and the definition of appropriate support models, with associated costs.
* Engage with stakeholders ensuring value and benefits of the Service and Technical Operations policies and processes are recognised and understood.
* The ability to work autonomously and resolve complex issues with minimal guidance.
* Ensure that all customer solutions and services align to Service and Technical Operations policies and processes.
* Ability to influence stakeholders across various positions and levels.
* Work with SD&T (Service Design and Transition) colleagues, the Service and Technical Operations teams to ensure service design packages are approved and accepted to enable Service Transition to commence.
Key Capabilities/Knowledge
* Provide advice and guidance to influence Service Architecture to ensure an operationally capable solution taking into account customer requirements and needs.
* Ability to influence stakeholders and engage with customers across various positions and levels
* Ability to produce documentation and high-level plans.
* High level of competency in Industry Best Practice service aligned frameworks (e.g., ITIL/SIAM).
* Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration across national and multinational teams.
* Excellent communication skills to lead meetings and present complex subjects clearly.
* Understanding of service lifecycle processes, cross functional and organisational design including governance structures.
* Knowledge of SAFe Agile Principles and Practices within large organisations.
* Can advocate for best practice and deliver continuous improvement solutions.
Experience & Qualifications
* Experience in Service Design and Development within large complex organisations (Service Architecture).
* Experience across diverse services, products and business.
* Leading SAFe certification (Knowledge of the SAFe Agile Roadmap).
* Certified ITIL4 Managing Professional.
* Commercially astute with strong business acumen.
* Understand BID Process in architecture and design of services and related documentation.
Desirable
* Prince 2 or PMP Project Management experience.
* Knowledge of MoD Governance, Procurement Structures and Assurance Processes.
